As I said, I wasn't particular articulate last night. The point is more about the fact that it's tiring to always being meeting new people and seeking out new faces. Others don't seek them out at times, so I'm the one shouldering my way into discussions, etc. There is definite growth, and I go to conferences more for the networking than anything else. But it is tiring, and not having a safety net of people that I know makes things even harder.

When I go to CM conferences, I usually go with other consultants and friends. But to get the most for our money and time, we almost always have to make a pact to "break up" and go seek out new faces and voices. Even though it's nice to attend with people you know, sometimes the growth comes from that "out of the box" networking.
