Dave Matthews Band, 5.17.1998
First concert for me in over a year. Great show, Boyd's "Birthday
Show." I sat on the lawn with about a dozen friends, and it was
the first time I taped... |
|
HORDE Festival, 8.28.1998
Back at Shoreline, saw some terrific bands.
Ben Harper blew my mind, and I saw Guster in all its glory for the
first time. It was also nice to just see a chill show at Shoreline,
where everyone just sat around and relaxed. |
|
HORDE Festival, 8.29.1998
Made the 2+ hour drive to see the show with a friend up in Martinez.
Had a good time, Ben wasn't quite as on fire, but I was impressed
with the BT opener - Devil Went Down to Georgia, which was basically
just Popper going nuts. |
|
Metallica, 8.30.1998
Wow, busy week in August. Let me tell you, though they may have sold
out and fought Napster and whatever, Metallica puts on one _hell_
of a show. I was right next to the mosh pit the whole time and it
was fun. |
|
Tori Amos, 9.19.1998
For the second (yes, second) encore, Tori came out in a cat suit.
'Nuff said. |
|
Bridge School Benefit, 8.18.1998
Wow, was this two years ago? BNL, Sarah McLachlan, REM, and Phish.
Closer was Phish with Sarah and Neil along with a couple members of
BNL playing I Shall Be Released. Still one of my all-time greatest
concert moments. |
|
Little Feat, 10.23.1998
First time at the Maritime. Tried to tape but kept getting the runaround
- things have not changed much since then. A couple of okay bands,
then Little Feat came on and you could just tell they were a _band_... |
|
Semisonic (and Guster), 10.28.1998
I actually only saw Guster. First time seeing them on a big stage
and first time at the Fillmore. They continued to wow me from when
I saw them at HORDE. Wish they could've played longer. Brian put me
on the guest list...good guy. |
|
Dave Matthews Band, 10.29.1998
Multiple DMB shows in one year. Thought it was weird then, yet it's
the norm now. Greg Howard sat in and I got a Minarets. Otherwise an
okay show. |
|
Dave Matthews Band, 10.31.1998
Another busy week in 1998. I was so young and full of energy then...Halloween
show. The people were all dressed up, that's for sure. Got a killer
Halloween, Joshua Redman just tore it up on IBYU and Jimi Thing, and
then Greg Howard did this insane Chapman Stick solo into Watchtower...tight
show. |
|
Neil Finn & Friends, 11.14.1998
Went on the recommendation of a friend. The 7th Note Showclub is very
small, but the show was fun. Good music, good crowd. |
|
Strangefolk, 12.27.1998
This was their "Christmas" show for 1998, and they put on
a good one at the historic Capitol Theatre. There were so many tapers
there I was blown away. They even provided power to them... |
|
Phish, 12.29.1998
Probably one of the 2 or 3 best shows I've ever been to. Incredible
set, just blew me away left and right and all over again. The YEM
was just epic, and I swear I was tripping during the vocal jam, but
was riding on just music high.. |
|
Phish 12.31.1998
To be honest, I thought the 29th was better, but it's new year's,
and it's phish, so it rocked. MSG is a fun place on NYE... |
